The department of Public Works is responsible for the development and
maintenance of the transportation system, the control and management of surface water quantity and quality, and the disposal of solid waste generated within all of Snohomish County.
The mission of Public Works is to provide responsive, cost-effective and quality public works services in a sustainable manner for present and future generations. Sustainability in Public Works means that new solutions can be developed in environmentally and socially responsible ways, while delivering services and infrastructure citizens expect with the best economic choice in the long term.
Public Works has received a variety of national and local awards for projects and services delivered in the following areas:
