Program Requirements

Parents are eligible for FDTC when a child protection case is filed in Snohomish County and the petition contains an allegation of child maltreatment resulting from parental substance abuse. There are no eligibility criteria based on children’s characteristics. Potential participant information is presented to the drug court team at meetings and the team approves admissions to the program.

Participants in FDTC are closely monitored by the court and are required to submit to several urinalysis tests per week. They are required to report to the court regularly and frequently. They are required to attend group and individual treatment sessions, and several 12-step meetings per week. As they progress in treatment, the frequency of their court appearances and intensity of treatment will diminish.
