Honorable David A. Kurtz
Judge David Kurtz began service on the Superior Court Bench on January 21, 2006. After growing up in Wisconsin and graduating from the University there, Judge Kurtz came west and received his law degree from the University of Washington in 1978. After running his own general law office in Wenatchee, he worked as a Snohomish County deputy prosecutor from 1983 until his appointment as Judge. A former local bar president and ex-member of the State Bar Disciplinary Board, he now serves on the SCJA Judicial Ethics Committee, as well as SCJA Committees on Civil Law, and on Therapeutic Courts. (Judge Kurtz currently presides over “adult drug court” on Fridays.) Judge Kurtz also runs marathons, and has two adult children with his wife Peggy.
