Honorable Ellen J. Fair

Judge Ellen J. Fair was appointed to the Snohomish County Superior Court bench in 1999.  She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington in 1979 and graduated in 1982 from the University of Washington School of Law.  Judge Fair served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Snohomish County from 1983 to 1994.  In 1994 she was elected to the position of South District Court Judge in Lynnwood where she served until her appointment to the Superior Court.   Judge Fair was a Dean of the Washington State Judicial College in 1999, member of the District and Municipal Court Judges Association Education Committee 1997 - 1999, and Presiding Judge of the Snohomish County District Courts in 1997.  She has been a member of Washington Women Lawyers since 1988.  Judge Fair currently serves as Vice Chair of the Sentencing Guidelines Commission.
