Judge George Appel was elected to the Superior Court bench on November 4, 2008.  He was raised in Seattle and graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Law in 1992.  He was admitted to the California bar association the same year, and then returned to Washington where he was admitted to our State’s bar in 1993.  Judge Appel worked in the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office until being elected to the bench, leaving the office as a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the criminal division.  He serves on the board of his local YMCA and of his church, and speaks at high schools throughout Snohomish County.  Judge Appel also serves on the Law and Justice committee and the Therapeutic Courts committee of the Washington State Judge’s Association.  He and his wife have two sons.
