Newberg Road and Dubuque Creek Culvert Project
Newberg Road must close for culvert replacement. Newberg Road will be closed at Dubuque Creek for approximately two months beginning Monday, July 13, 2009.
Project Description
Dubuque Creek culvert is located along Newberg Road approximately 2.5 miles north of OK Mill Road and south of 48th Street NE. It is a wooden box structure that has provided passage for fish passage under the road and for vehicles over the creek for quite a few years. However, the wood has deteriorated with time and the culvert needs to be replaced to prevent road failure at this location.
The road must be closed to all through traffic just northeast of Walsh Road. The stream will be temporarily diverted to permit the crew to excavate the culvert, replace it and repair the road.
Signs will be posted along the detour route: Newberg Road south of the culvert, OK Mill Road, North Carpenter Road, Robe-Menzel Road - Bosworth Drive - Lerch Road - 48th Street NE, and Newberg Road northeast of the culvert.
