Airport Road & 128th St SW ADA upgrades - RC 1626

Project Description
Snohomish County has received a $100,000 Housing and Urban Development
(HUD) grant to help pay for upgrades that will benefit disabled citizens in south Everett. The upgrades will be constructed at the Airport Road/Admiralty Way intersection and at the 128th St SW/E Gibson Road intersection.
Poles will be installed at each quadrant of the intersections and connect
to the traffic signal. A raised arrow on each pole will point toward the crosswalk (see the photo above). Pressing the arrow will activate auditory and vibratory features to help sight impaired pedestrians know when the traffic light has changed for them to cross the road. Wheelchair ramps at the intersections will also be upgraded.
Construction impacts
Construction is planned to begin on January 10, 2012 and continue into early
March 2012. During the work alternating quadrants of the intersections may be closed to pedestrians. You can register to receive e-mail notification whenever this project page is updated by following this link -
