132nd St SE (SR96) & 39th Ave SE Intersection
Newsletter - July 2010 (pdf)
Project Description
Work will take place this summer on a Snohomish County Public Works intersection improvement project at SR96 and 39th Avenue SE. The intersection is along one of Snohomish County's three major east-west corridors. There are a number of businesses in the area, as well as two schools: Penny Creek Elementary School and Archbishop Murphy High School.
A new traffic signal is planned for the intersection, along with curbs, gutters and sidewalks. The improvements will enhance traffic and pedestrian safety and make access easier to and from SR96 at 39th Avenue SE.
This is a Snohomish County project in coordination with the City of Mill Creek and Washington State Department of Transportation.
Construction
Work will begin on the project in mid July 2010 and continue until the end of August*. The crew will be working ten-hour days, Monday through Thursdays each week, 7:30am – 5:30pm. Much of the work will occur on the side of the road.
However, single lane closures will be in effect in each direction from near August 5 for approximately two weeks. Drivers are advised to plan for some traffic delays through the area during peak hours.
