Permits
Any actions that interfere with County right-of-way require some type of Snohomish County permit or agreement. Staff from the Public Works Customer Service Counter review and administer some of the permits and agreements that are governed by Snohomish County Code Title 13 (Roads and Bridges).
Click on the following links for help getting a new permit or obtaining a copy of an existing permit:
- Type A permits (Issued by Auditor's Office)
These permits are issued through the Auditor's Office for carnivals, circuses, parades, dances, public events/assemblies, runs, etc.For complete information on Type A Permits, visit the Auditor's Office homepage.
- Type B permits (Issued by Public Works)
Traffic Control Plan for lane, shoulder and road closures, overweight/oversize loads, haul route agreements, log tolerance, etc.
- Type C permits (Issued by Public Works)
Fences, landscaping, bus stops, loading zones, drop boxes, waste facilities, temporary signs, tree cutting, neighborhood watch signs, etc.
- Type D permits (Issued by PDS)
Type D permits are required for construction activities that disturb the roadway and other features within the County right-of-way, as defined in Chapter 13.60 SCC. These permits are issued through the Planning and Development Services Department (PDS).
- Type E and other miscellaneous permits (Issued by Public Works)
New utility franchises, road vacation, road establishment, right-of-way encroachment and abatement, etc.
