2010 TIGER II Discretionary Grant Application for Snohomish County
Project: 20th Street SE Corridor Improvements, Phase 2
The 20th Street SE corridor provides an important east-west connection between Everett (via the US 2 Trestle), State Route 9 (SR 9) and east Snohomish County. The 20th Street SE Corridor improvements are a major component of the City and County strategy to accommodate increased employment and population in the fast growing area.
Phase 2 Current Conditions - West End |
This project will make improvements to the west end of 20th Street SE between the US 2 Trestle and 91st Avenue SE. It will provide additional capacity and improved traffic flow, as well as facilities for pedestrians, bicyclists and transit users.

The City of Lake Stevens and Snohomish County want to continue these improvements on the west end of 20th Street SE. Design and right-of-way for Phase 2 are nearing completion, making the project ‘shovel ready.’ This $13 million TIGER II grant request represents the final piece of the puzzle in moving the 20th Street SE Corridor Improvement Project to completion.
