The Traffic Operations Section includes the following groups:
Traffic Analysis and Design
Theam Ong, Supervisor
This group is responsible for analysis of the capacity and efficiency of roads and intersections, including but not limited to level-of-service determinations, manual and machine traffic counts, and analyses of accident data.
Traffic Investigations
Dale Valliant, Traffic Investigations Supervisor
The Traffic Investigations group is responsible for evaluating and resolving issues regarding traffic signage and markings and the efficiency of roads and intersections. Staff duties also include responding to citizen requests for changes to speed limits and road signs, installation of traffic calming measures and maintenance of the County's road atlas.
Traffic Signals and Electrical Maintenance Unit (TSEMU)
Gordy Hyde, Supervisor
This group, which is located at the Cathcart Way Operations Center, is responsible for the maintenance and repair of traffic signals, flashing beacons and flashing sidewalks on the County road system, as well as for client cities through interlocal agreements. Staff also provides electrical maintenance to County facilities.
