Please Note: An error was made in compiling the on-line version of the 2010 EDDS Section 1-17 (Definitions). If you downloaded the 2010 EDDS between Sept 29 and Dec 16, 2010, please re-download EDDS Section 1-17 from the "Complete text with 2010 NPDES Revisions (pdf)" link above.
Note: To save a CAD drawing to your computer, click on the link to open the drawing in your browser, then right click with your mouse and choose "save target as" and type in the .dwg extension after the file name if its not there already. Next choose the destination on your computer where you want to save the CAD file to. Then you can open the file with your AutoCAD application.

Notice of Rule Adoption: NPDES
As described in the "Notice of Rule Adoption," the County Engineer has approved the following EDDS revisions for NPDES permit compliance:
- EDDS Chapter 1, General Considerations
- EDDS Chapter 4, Road Elements and Features (revised pages)
- Chapter 4 Standard Drawings (new)
- EDDS Chapter 5, Drainage
- Chapter 5 Standard Drawings (all)
- EDDS Chapter 8, Utilities and Other Right-of-Way Uses (revised page)
- Appendix B, Stormwater Facility Landscaping

Deviation Forms:
The EDDS deviation application is to be used ONLY when requesting to construct improvements to a different standard than that required by the EDDS. An EDDS deviation SHALL NOT be used to waive an EDDS requirement or to modify or waive a requirement of SCC Chapters 30.24 (Roads and Access), 30.66B (Concurrency and Road Impact Mitigation) or EDDS Chapter 5 (Drainage).
A Title 30 SCC Administrative Variance is needed to modify or waive a Chapter 30.24 or 30.66B SCC requirement:

Deviation requests from requirements of EDDS Chapter 5 or the new Drainage Manual shall be processed as modifications or waivers, as applicable, in accordance with SCC 30.63A.830 through 30.63A.842.

Interim EDDS Administrative Interpretations: Pursuant to EDDS Section 1-04, the County Engineer has approved the following “Interim EDDS Administrative Interpretations.” Formerly known as “EDDS Blanket Deviations,” these interpretations are intended to clarify the meaning and use of certain EDDS provisions. The interpretations will be implemented by the PDS Traffic/Drainage Engineering staff; prior discussion with the staff is recommended. The interpretations are not considered EDDS deviation requests and will not be charged the deviation review fee applicable on July 1, 2008. They are considered “interim” until they have been incorporated in the next EDDS revision.
