History of Adopt-A-Road Program

Snohomish County’s Adopt-A-Road Program was established by Ordinance No. 08-078 passed by the County Council on June 25, 2008 and approved by the County Executive on June 27, 2008.

The State of Washington started its Adopt-A-Highway program in 1990. Some cities have also started their own adopt-a-street programs. Please contact the Washington State Department of Transportation or your city about their programs.
