The staff of ENVS has expertise in a wide range of environmental and natural resource topics. As part of a Public Works project team, the role of ENVS staff is to provide guidance on local, state and federal requirements, and obtain necessary environmental permits and approvals such as SEPA and NEPA. ENVS facilitates the permitting process for compliance with applicable development rules and regulations, including Rule 5001 and Public Works’ land disturbing activity compliance process.
ENVS staff prepares environmental documents and permit applications for submittal to local, state and federal permitting agencies, conducts SEPA review for the Public Works’ Director (responsible official) and ensures that public notice and outreach is timely and meaningful.
