Solid Waste Rates

The Snohomish County Council and Executive have approved a fee increase to cover the cost of handling, transporting and disposing of local solid waste. March 1, 2009, Snohomish County initiated a new fee structure at its three transfer stations and three neighborhood recycling and disposal centers-NRDCs (drop boxes). While some prices went up, others were reduced. Some are even free.

  • Maximum 5 cubic yards accepted from one customer
  • $20 minimum fee per customer, includes tax (approximately 6 garbage cans)
  • $20 for each additional cubic yard, includes tax

To calculate cubic yards: The length x width x height (all measured in feet) divided by 27 = cubic yardage. Load carefully. We do not subtract the "empty space" in a load.
