Moderate Risk Waste (MRW) Station
Your business must meet certain critieria to use the MRW facility as a Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator.

State and Federal law requires businesses to properly manage and dispose of chemical waste. Business hazardous wastes include items such as dyes, paints, inks, thinners, sludges, solvents, pesticides, chemicals, acids, and caustics, to name a few. If your business accumulates small amounts, or needs one-time disposal of these items you may want to use the MRW facility. However, to do so, you MUST make an appointment, and there is a FEE involved. The MRW can accept certain types of business waste, so please call to see if your hazardous waste is an accepted item.

- How do I schedule a time? What will I be charged?
The MRW facility is open to businesses by appointment only. A fee is charged for the service. For an appointment and an estimate of disposal costs, call (425) 388-6050. Business appointments are Wed-Fri 7:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Please have your Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) ready to identify the class of hazardous waste you are disposing of.

Yes, if your business generates fewer than 220 lbs. of hazardous waste per month or accumulates fewer than 2,200 lbs. of hazardous waste.
Yes, if your business generates or accumulates fewer than 2.2 lbs. of acutely hazardous waste (AHW) per month (see WAC 173-303-081 for AHW list)
- My company is larger. Can I still use the Snohomish County MRW?
If you accumulate more that the eligible CESQG amounts, your business may be a fully regulated generator of hazardous waste. Our MRW staff can provide you with other hazardous waste management and disposal options, or a list of vendors who will pick up from your business.
