Spring Lake
|
Spring Lake lies east of Jordan Road approximately three miles northwest of Granite Falls. The lake is 26 acres and has a maximum depth of 3.0 meters, which makes it one of the shallowest lakes in the county. It appears the lake was originally a beaver pond. Later, an earthen dam was built to replace the beaver dam and make the lake more permanent. Spring Lake has no public access. |

Water Quality Information
Summary
Spring Lake has moderate water clarity, low phosphorus levels, and abundant aquatic plants. The plants help to maintain the clear water. The lake may be at risk of future declines in water quality if the aquatic plants are removed or if nutrient runoff from the watershed increases.
Reports
A comprehensive Snohomish County State of the Lakes Report was produced in 2003 and includes a specific section on Spring Lake. Individual lake updates to this report are provided each year as new data are collected. No data have been collected at Spring Lake since 2006.
Data
Snohomish County Surface Water Management (SWM) together with volunteer lake-monitors have been collecting water quality data for Spring Lake since 1998. Current and historical lake water quality data are available online in SWM's interactive Water Quality Database.
