In the right environmental conditions, populations of algae can rapidly expand to form dense algal masses or blooms. The bloom color can help to identify the type of algae causing the bloom since algae are primarily categorized into groups based on their color. Below are examples of algae blooms that have been found in or close to Snohomish County. |
