Natural Drainage Techniques
Also known as low impact development (LID) techniques, natural drainage techniques allow water to infiltrate into the ground where it can recharge groundwater and where contaminants can be filtered by soil organisms. These techniques include pervious pavement, terracing, compost-amended soils, rain gardens, and landscaping with native plants.
