Snohomish County offers a variety of excellent learning opportunities for all ages. Volunteer plantings are scheduled several times each year from October through April. Volunteers are always welcome and no experience is required. Tools, instruction and refreshments are provided. Come join the fun while making a difference in our environment.

| Volunteers help to plant willow live stakes. Willows grow fast from cuttings and help to provide shade, which cools streams and reduces erosion. |
Volunteers of all ages help in the restoration efforts. |

| After being planted, plants are mulched. The mulch helps young plants grow by holding moisture and preventing weed growth around the tree. |
Beavers like to eat young willows. Plants are protected from animals using plastic mesh. |
Plants are tagged for monitoring and identification.This helps us to monitor the plant's health in the future. |
