Surface Water Management
Stillaguamish Implementation Review Committee (SIRC)
The SIRC
Founded in 1990, the SIRC is a 26-member voluntary group of citizens, local municipalities, tribes, agriculture and forestry interests, flood control districts and environmental groups, who are dedicated to restoring and maintaining a healthy Stillaguamish River Watershed. The SIRC provides feedback to County and Tribal staff on the development and implementation of watershed plans to protect water quality and restore fish habitat.
The Stillaguamish Technical Advisory Group (TAG) is a subcommittee of the SIRC. The TAG develops technical recommendations for salmon conservation.
The SIRC’s Mission
Adopted by consensus on November 15, 2000, the mission of the SIRC is to maintain a healthy, functioning Stillaguamish Watershed by providing a local forum in which agencies, organizations, communities, and the public can engage in a collaborative watershed based process of decision making and coordination.
