In 2003 a team led by the Stillaguamish Tribe used sidescan sonar to locate and recover 57 derelict crab pots in Port Susan, using the guidelines developed by the Northwest Straits Commission and NOAA. Report prepared by Natural Resources Consultants, Inc. for the Stillaguamish Tribe in 2003.

Hood Canal Low-Oxygen Event Video (external link)
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) filmed underwater conditions in Hood Canal during a Sept. 19, 2006, low-oxygen event. This underwater video was filmed near Sund Rocks on the west side of Hood Canal by WDFW Research Scientist Wayne Palsson.
