Workshop Description

This workshop is designed for teachers of grades 4 - 8 who are interested in bringing the fascinating world of salmon into their classroom. You’ll learn about the different species of Pacific salmon, their interesting life cycles, and their different habitat requirements. You’ll also learn how your personal actions, and those of your students, can impact salmon, both positively and negatively. Participants will experience interactive and interdisciplinary activities (aligned with the EALRs and GLEs) that can be brought back to the classroom and school campus.

Those who attend the optional three-hour Saturday field trip will travel to the Sultan River to see pink salmon migrating and digging nests for their eggs.
