Geotech Group

Dale E. Topham, P.E., Supervisor and Geotechnical Engineer

This group in Engineering Services provides geotechnical engineering and geological, environmental and materials testing services to Public Works divisions such as Surface Water Management and Solid Waste Management, as well as other County departments including Parks & Recreation and the Airport. 

The group does not provide services directly to the public, but in support of public projects. Geotechnical and geological services are provided as part of the design and construction process and for emergency situations such as floods and landslides. Materials testing services are generally provided for construction projects.

Environmental services related to potential or confirmed soil or groundwater contamination are provided prior to property acquisition and sales, or as contaminated media are encountered or suspected during County projects or at County facilities.
