Lake Stevens Community County Park Park History
Formerly an old homestead and timber harvesting site. The property was purchased from Roesler Timber Company in 1996, with the assistance of the Lake Stevens Junior Athletic Association (LSJAA).
A master plan was created with community involvement in 1998. Wyser Construction was awarded the project with the low bid of $4.3 million. Construction began in the fall of 2008.
Funding included park impact mitigation fees collected in the Lake Stevens area, Real Estate Excise Tax revenues allocated by the County Council and a grant from the State of Washington Recreation Conservation Office.
