The Estuary
The Snohomish River Estuary is a unique place where the nutrient rich waters of the Snohomish River come in contact with the saltwater of Possession Sound. At least 350 different kinds of birds and countless varieties of mammals and plants call this special place home, including blue heron, eagles, osprey, seals and otter. This exceptional setting provides paddlers and outdoor recreation enthusiasts with an enjoyable and scenic destination.
The Watertrail
Snohomish County Parks and Recreation is developing a watertrail for canoers and kayakers at the Snohomish River Estuary. The watertrail will be a unique place where kayakers and canoers can explore over 14 miles of shoreline, view abundant wildlife, and paddle safely over calm water.
The watertrail is only 5 minutes from downtown Everett and visible from Interstate 5. Canoers and kayakers throughout the Pacific Northwest will have access to this regional paddle destination through Langus Park and dock at Marine Park.
