Snohomish County
2011 Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) Awards
(Proposed)
Snohomish County, in consortium with 19 cities and towns within the County, administers the Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) program. The revenues come from a $10 surcharge on certain real-estate transactions. The program is administered by the Snohomish County Human Services Department's (HSD) Office of Housing Homelessness and Community Development (OHHCD).
The funds may be used to support affordable housing projects which benefit low-income households at or below 50 percent of the area median income and operating and maintenance costs for emergency shelters and low-income rental housing projects.
A total of $792,848 in AHTF funds is available for 2011 projects. Twelve projects are included in the 2011 proposed awards along with the City of Everett's set-aside, totaling $792,848. The projects include: one (1) housing capital project; operating and maintenance costs for six (6) emergency shelters and (5) five low-income rental housing projects in the County; and a set-aside for City of Everett affordable housing projects. For additional project information, view a list of the Proposed 2011 AHTF Awards in PDF (61 kb).
