PUBLIC NOTICE:
REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS (RFPs) for FAMILY CAREGIVER SUPPORT PROGRAMS
Snohomish County is soliciting responses from organizations interested in providing services on behalf of the Family Caregiver Support Program. The County seeks to fund one countywide and four geographically targeted projects that provide core services to the unpaid family caregiver residing in Snohomish County.
According to RCW 74.14 an unpaid family caregiver is an individual who does not receive any compensation for providing care to a loved one, friend, or neighbor. In order to receive services through the Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP) the caregiver needs to be actively providing care to someone over the age of 18.
Core services include information and referral, assistance accessing services, individual counseling, individual consultation, support groups, and training. Effective June 29, 2009, the Aging and Disability Services Administration (ADSA) added additional core services and mandates that the County’s FCSP program include the TCARE® protocol.
The Snohomish County Human Services Department, Division of Long Term Care & Aging, has developed a separate Request for Proposal (RFP) information packet for each of the projects. The information packets contain details on the scope of work to be performed and qualification standards for the following projects:
