ANNOUNCEMENT!
Training Dates: The next volunteer certification training dates will be September 21, 22, 28 and 29, 2010. Applications are being accepted.
WHAT WE DO
The Snohomish County Long Term Care Ombudsman Program promotes the interests, well-being and rights of vulnerable adults living in long term care facilities. We are part of the Washington State Long Term Care Ombudsman program, a federally mandated program created by the Older Americans Act (see program video).
Staff and certified volunteer ombudsmen advocate for vulnerable adults living in:
- Nursing Homes
- Assisted Living Facilities
- Adult Family Homes
Ombudsmen work with residents, their families and staff to achieve high quality and compassionate care. We receive, investigate and resolve complaints on quality of life and care issues. We also provide information, consultations and presentations to residents, their families, staff, and the public.
VOLUNTEER: MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY
Volunteers come from all walks of life, various age groups and educational levels. The common thread is a passion for older adults and persons with disabilities. Expenses such as mileage are reimbursable.
