These seasonal position will work up to 40 hr/week.  Snohomish County Parks will be testing and interviewing prospective candidates for the position of Facility Maintenance Worker I – Temporary Seasonal, for the 2011 season.  These are seasonal employment positions planned for the time period April 1 through October 31.  Actual employment dates and length of temporary employment will vary based on the needs of the Department. May be required to work nights and weekends.

Essential Job Duties:

• Perform a variety of routine grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming lawns, watering and weeding flower beds, raking, pick and shovel work, using a variety of small power tools.
• Perform routine unskilled manual labor tasks and operates a variety of light equipment as directed.
• Operates a variety of single axle trucks rated to 10.000 LBS GVW and less, and lawn mowing equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance on assigned equipment by checking fluid levels and lubricating equipment as necessary.
• Picks up and delivers equipment, materials, parts, and supplies as required.
• Paints with non powered equipment from ground level or non powered lifting devices under supervision.
• Performs variety of routine cleaning tasks such as cleaning and stocking restrooms, cleaning and waxing floors, and setting up facilities for a variety of meetings and events, clean up after meetings and events, garbage and litter pickup.
• Fills out records and reports as necessary.
• Assist in traffic control, flagging and barricade placement.

Minimum Qualifications:

One (1) year experience in construction and maintenance work; OR, any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.  Must pass job related tests.

 

Special Qualifications:

A valid Washington State Driver's License is required for employment. All applicants will be required to submit a copy of their driving record.

Possession of or ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card within ninety (90) days of employment.
