Snohomish County Parks and Recreation will be hiring for the position of Park Aide, Recreation Emphasis – Temporary Seasonal, up to 25 hr/week.  The selection process will include testing and interviews of prospective candidates , for the 2012 season.  This is a temporary employment position planned for the months of February through September.  Actual employment dates and length of temporary employment will vary based on the needs of the Department and the number of applicants hired. Scheduled hours will include weekends and holidays.

Essential Job Duties:

The following examples are illustrative essential job duties:

  • Groom, Prep and Set-up Athletic Sports Fields
  • Complete weekly Athletic Field Safety Checklist 
  • Operate Baseball Infield Groomer
  • Chalk or Paint Atheltic Field Lines
  • Load and Unload Equipment onto trailer
  • Drive County Vehicle to various parks
  • Perform maintenance on Spray Park and or Pool Filtration Systems including Backwashing and Chemical Testing
  • Assist in Special Events including set-up and take-down
  • Operate Power Blower
  • Operate Pressure Washer 
  • Sweep and clear trails and walkways
  • Wash trucks and other equipment
  • Pick up litter on park grounds
  • Weed flower beds and planters
  • Rake leaves and clear debris 
  • Perform related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires excellent guest service skills, strong attendance, and dependable team focused support to safety and adherance to policies.

 

Any equivalent combination of training and or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities to:

  • perform athletic field grooming;  maintain base paths, infield skin, pitcher's mound, home plate and bullpen areas
  • Drive Truck and Trailer and Load/Unload Equipment 
  • conduct chemical tests of spray park and or swimming pool
  • backwash spray park and or swimming pool filters
  • clean hair and lint strainers

Must be 18 years of age 

 

Special Qualifications:
  • Possess a Washington State Drivers License.  Must have and maintain an insurable driving record by the County standards
  • Possess or ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card within four weeks of employment
  • All applicants are subject to criminal background check
