It is recommended that you call your Human Resources Representative if you have an accident or illness in which you are absent from work a month or more. This will allow us to initiate the LTD application process. This way when you have completed your 90-day waiting period; the application for benefits will have been processed and you can start receiving your monthly disability payments if approved.
The long term disability monthly payment will be 60% of your pre-disability gross wages (maximum $3,000 per month). For employees in the management and exempt disability plan, disability payments will be 66 and 2/3% of your pre-disability gross wages (maximum $5,000 per month). If your injury or illness also qualifies you for workers compensation, you are still eligible to apply for the long-term disability. While on worker’s compensation, you are eligible to receive a minimum benefit of $100 a month, as a subsidy to your worker’s compensation benefits. If you are permanently disabled you will be covered by this plan until age 65.
