2013 Budget Information
Welcome to the 2013 Snohomish County Executive Budget page. On Sept. 28, 2012, I presented my proposed 2013 budget, offering a balanced budget marked by fiscal restraint and discipline.
The proposed $211 million General Fund budget I have presented accounts for the 9th year without a property tax increase. The overall county budget for 2013 is expected to be about $649 million and includes increased capital expenditures at the airport and Brightwater mitigation funds for parks. These improvements will account for increased jobs in our aerospace industry as well as an improved quality of life for our Snohomish County residents.
Public safety spending still accounts for the largest portion of the general fund budget at more than 73 percent. Since 2001, the county’s general fund commitment to public safety has grown by more than $54 million.
