I have had the honor to serve the people of Snohomish County since 2010. I am dedicated to strengthening our communities through economic development and improved public safety, and to working towards a shared vision for development, transportation and preservation throughout the region.
In addition to serving as chair of the Operations Committee, which includes a diverse range of policy areas such as the county airport, Paine Field, County Auditor, Information Services, Facilities, and Parks and Recreation Departments, I currently serve as Vice Chair of the Snohomish County Health District, and on the Puget Sound Regional Council Transportation Board, Community Transit Board, Snohomish County Tomorrow, Conservation Futures Board, LEOFF Board, and the National Association of Counties Justice and Public Safety Committee.
Born in Everett, I am a life-long resident of Snohomish County with roots in both Marysville and Lynnwood. My husband and I have lived in Lynnwood for almost 20 years and are now raising our wonderful son there. After receiving my Bachelors from Washington State University, I earned a Masters in Teaching from Seattle Pacific University. Prior to serving on the County Council, I was a high school teacher at Woodinville High School, a librarian in the Northshore School District, and served on the Lynnwood City Council.
