Community Corrections: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I apply for a SCSO Community Corrections program?
You must either have a referral letter from your attorney, have pled guilty or have been sentenced in order to apply. If you meet any one on these requirements then you may apply in person at 1918 Wall St Everett, WA 98201. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Bring your court paperwork or referral letter with you. You will be given an application and an interview date.
How will I be notified about my eligibility for a Community Corrections program?
Work Crew applicants will be notified of eligibility at the time they apply. Applicants for other programs will receive a Notice of Eligibility in the mail. It is the offenders’ responsibility to notify SCSO of any address changes. At the top of the notice it will indicate if you are eligible or not. If you are eligible, pay attention to the entry conditions listed in the middle of the page. They are very important! Failure to meet these entry conditions may result in your transfer to jail.
What is the minimum sentence for participation in Community Corrections programs?
There is no minimum sentence for Work Crew or Electronic Home Detention (EHD). There is a minimum 10 day sentence to participate in Work Release.
Are inmates authorized good time while in Work Release?
For Work Crew and EHD there is no “good time” given. With Work Release most inmates are eligible for ten (10) days per month of “good time” while serving their sentence in the Work Release Program. This amounts to 1/3 off.
Am I allowed to have visitors while in Work Release?
Inmates are allowed 3 visits per week. The visiting procedure is the same as in the main jail. Please refer to the Community Corrections Orientation Manual or the SCSO department website for more information.
Can I receive mail while in Work Release or In-Custody Work Crew?

Inmate Name and ID Number (if known)
1918 Wall St.

Is there parking available for inmates in Community Corrections programs?
There is absolutely no parking designated for inmates in SCSO Community Corrections programs. Parking may be available in the county parking garage. For more information regarding this option contact Republic Parking Inc. staff at the parking garage entrance located on the 3000 block of Oakes Ave. The streets surrounding the county campus have parking limits so make sure to pay attention to these if you use street parking. Inmates are not allowed to move their vehicles for parking purposes.
Can I have a cell phone or pager while in the Community Corrections facility
Cell phones and pagers are not allowed in the residential area of the facility for any reason. Inmates who need to use a cell phone or pager in the performance of his/her work must submit a written request to the Community Corrections Captain stating the specific need and use for the device. If approved, the inmate may turn the device in when reporting to the facility and take it out again when leaving.
