Inmate Visitation
The Snohomish County Jail allows inmates to set up visits with family and friends after they have made their initial court appearance or if they are serving time. Visitation occurs over a video connection in the reception area of the jail. Contact visits are not normally allowed.
Inmates are responsible for setting up their own visits and also for informing their visitors of their scheduled visit time. Each inmate may schedule up to three (3) one-hour visits per week (Sunday - Saturday) and may schedule them up to two weeks in advance. Inmates are limited to only one visitation slot per day. Visits start on the hour and it is advisable that family and friends arrive at the jail up to 30 minutes early to check in so the visit can start on time. No visits will be extended to accommodate late arrivals.
Visits are subject to change or cancellation based on operational needs and inmate movement. For example, if an inmate is moved to a new housing unit they may have to reschedule their visit in their new unit. Every effort will be made to try and accommodate previously scheduled visits; however this may not always be possible. Before coming to the jail it is advisable to check the jail register to ensure the inmate is still in custody.
Visitors must have a valid picture ID before they will be allowed to visit. Visitors under the age of 18 are not allowed unless they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Certified birth certificates (not a photocopy) or proof of guardianship are required. Children under 18 are not required to be accompanied if they are the son, daughter, brother or sister of the inmate being visited.
While exact visit dates and times must be obtained from the inmate, general visit opportunities are as follows:
Sunday: After 6:00 pm
Monday: 8:00 am to 10:00 pm
Tuesday, Wednesday: Before 4:00 pm
Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 8:00 am to 10:00 pm
