Court Orientation

(Superior Court & Everett Division Only)

Jurors are instructed on their summons to call the weekend prior to their report date for reporting instructions for their first day of service. On the first day of jury duty, the report time is normally 8:10 a.m. Jurors report to the Courthouse Jury Assembly Room on the 1st floor of the courthouse as specified in the recorded message on the call-in line.  Jurors are paid for round trip mileage and $10.00 a day for service.

After recording attendance and mileage, the jurors are shown a short film explaining jury service followed by an orientation by the Jury Coordinator.

After orientation, jurors are randomly selected to go to the courtrooms that are assigned jury trials. Normal hours for trials are 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. These hours may vary depending on the judge’s schedule.

If you are not picked for a trial on the first day, you will be released from the courtroom and given reporting instructions for the following day or will be asked to check in with the Jury Coordinator before you leave the courthouse.
