Requesting a Records Search By Mail
If you wish the recording staff to conduct a search of the official public records for you, you may submit the request by mail by completing the following steps:
- Fill out the search request form (see instructions below), providing all the information requested.
- Be sure to include a check for the fee. We are unable to process your search request or make copies until the fee is received.
Copies of marriage records can be obtained via mail or in-person at the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office. Fees are:
|Certified copies of marriage records prior to 1976
|Certified copies of marriage records from 1976 to present
|Additional certified copies of the same document
Please include the names of both parties and date of marriage with your request. Please make checks payable to Snohomish County Auditor and mail to:

UCC research requests are submitted on a State UCC-11R certificate of information form or a County UCC-22R form. The search fee is $8.00 per name and $1.00 per page for copies. This is an "exact" name search which encompasses five years. Exact names do not apply to dba, aka or different versions of names, (example Smith Company Inc and Smith Company Corporation). If requesting copies, an option may be to submit a check for a "not to exceed" amount in addition to the search fee.
For other search types, please submit a check for a "not to exceed" amount. We are unable to determine the exact amount due before the search is completed as copy fees are based on the page count of the documents found ($1.00 per page).
