Pawnbrokers and Employees

 

Definitions:

Pawnbroker means any person or business engaged in whole or in part in the business of loaning money upon the taking or receiving of personal property as security for the repayment of such loans or any person or business who shall keep any store, shop, room or place where such goods are so taken or received.

Employee means all persons who work in or at or render any services directly related to the operation of a pawnbroker business.

Any individual or business in unincorporated Snohomish County meeting the definition must obtain a pawnbroker or a pawnbroker employee license prior to operating or operating in a pawnbroker business. These licenses are annual licenses and must be renewed yearly. Applicants must appear with current photo identification and four (4) color passport pictures, 2 x 2 inches, taken within the last six (6) months.

Fees:

Pawnbroker Business  
  License Fee $300.00
  Legal Advertisement $ 25.00 (original applications only)
Employee  
  License Fee $100.00
  Fingerprint Fee (money order only) $ 16.00
  Criminal Background Check

$ 10.00 per applicant
