General Description of Board Duties:

The Lake Stevens Park and Recreation Service Area was established by a vote of the citizens residing within the boundaries of the Lake Stevens School District. The Service Area can recommend bond financing for the acquisition, construction or improvement of parks and recreation property and facilities. The Governing Advisory Board makes the recommendation for public vote on prospective bond issues which can be voted on by the citzens residing within the boundaries of the Service Area.

Qualifications and Restrictions:

Three of the Board positions are appointed by the County Executive and County Council from citizens residing in the unincorporated portion of the Service Area.  The City of Lake Stevens appoints one member from citizens residing in the City. Board Members should have excellent knowledge  and interest in Parks and understand the needs of their community. Some knowledge of financing, community organizations, local service organizations and other community interests is desireable.
