General Description of Board Duties:
The state Boundary Review Board for Snohomish County reviews and rules on proposed annexations and incorporations for cities and /or special purpose districts (fire, water, sewer districts, etc.).  The board consists of five citizen volunteers who are appointed by the Governor (two appointments), local cities (one appointment), the county (one appointment), and local special purpose districts (one appointment).
Qualifications and Restrictions:

·         Experience with or knowledge of the Growth Management Act

·         Experience in conducting public hearings, taking testimony, responding to elected/appointed officials and citizens during the hearing process, and making decisions based upon statutory requirements

·         Experience with or knowledge of the Open Public Meetings Act and Appearance of Fairness Doctrine

·         Experience in serving on a planning commission

 

No appointee may be an official or employee of the county or a governmental unit in the county, or a consultant or advisor on a contractual or regular retained basis of the county, any governmental unit in the county, or any agency or association thereof.

The successful applicant will fill an unexpired term ending January 31, 2011.
