Regular monthly meetings of the Ag Advisory Board will be held on the second Tuesday of each month in the County Administration Building, 3000 Rockefeller, Everett, unless otherwise posted. Meetings will occasionally be held in the farming community, dates and locations to be determined, and will be noted on the upcoming meeting agenda.

Snohomish County Code Chapter 2.06 created the Agricultural Advisory Board to assist the county in recommending actions concerning agricultural lands and issues in Snohomish County.  The Snohomish County GMA Comprehensive Plan General Policy Plan states that the Agricultural Advisory Board shall provide advice on and recommendations for goals, policies, programs, incentives, and regulations related to agriculture and agricultural conservation.  The Board forwards its recommendations and advice directly to the intended advisee, with copies sent to the County Council, County Executive, the department of Planning and Development Services, and the department of Finance. 

All Board members must reside in Snohomish County, be engaged in commercial agricultural activities within Snohomish County, and fulfill the requirements of the specific position to which they are being appointed.  Members do not represent council districts.  Snohomish County Charter Section 2.20 authorizes the County Council to confirm members of the Board nominated by the County Executive.

Snohomish County Code Chapter 2.06 establishes membership and terms for the eleven member Board. 

Board members serve terms of four years unless a member is appointed for a term of two years as provided in Snohomish County Code, or is filling the remainder of a term vacated by a previous member.  (The term for Position 7 expires 4/19/2012, which is the balance of the term vacated by the previous Position 7 representative.)

Requirements of the open position:

Position 7:  One person representing the diking, drainage, and flood control districts in the Stillaguamish River Basin.
