2013 County Engineer of the Year
Awarded by: Washington State Association of County Engineers (WSACE)
Description: This award is given to an outstanding engineer each year and takes into consideration management skills, public relations, engineering expertise, community activities, association activity and other outreach.
Recipient: Owen Carter, Deputy Director of Snohomish County Public Works. Owen oversees three divisions: Road Maintenance, Transportation and Environmental Services, and Engineering Services.
2012 Surveyor of the Year
Awarded by: Land Surveyor's Association of Washington State
Description: Awarded to one individual who, by assessment of his or her peers, has contributed the most to the surveying profession as a whole over the past 5 years. Amanda is the first woman in the state to receive this award.

Description: First award from Clean Cities for leadership as a fleet manager promoting alternative fuels in Snohomish County, support of Clean Cities Coalition as a steering committee member, and commitment to reducing the use of petroleum fuel and creating a cleaner, healthier environment for residents of the State of Washington.
